OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

A Land‑Powered Adventure for Youth

Step onto the trail. Step into the story. Step into your strength.

The QuakeGuardians Earth Walk is a guided outdoor experience designed for youth who want to explore the land, build confidence, and discover the mental‑health benefits of spending time in nature. This program blends storytelling, culture, earthquake awareness, and hands‑on learning into one meaningful, memorable journey.

What Is the QuakeGuardians Earth Walk?

It’s more than a walk through the forest. It’s a chance to reconnect — with the land, with community, and with yourself.

Youth join the QuakeGuardians team on a guided experience through forests, trails, rocky outcrops, and outdoor learning spaces, where they learn about:

  • The grounding power of nature to support emotional well‑being

  • Local plants, wildlife, and the geology that shapes our region

  • Indigenous knowledge and land‑based teachings about the earth

  • Earthquake awareness, natural hazards, and outdoor safety

  • Leadership, teamwork, and confidence‑building skills

Through interactive storytelling, creative challenges, and quiet moments of reflection, participants experience the land in a whole new way.

Why It Matters

Young people today face constant pressure, digital overload, and rising stress. Time in nature — especially in forests and natural spaces — has been shown to:

  • Reduce anxiety and stress

  • Improve focus and emotional balance

  • Strengthen resilience and self‑esteem

  • Encourage physical activity and healthy habits

  • Build a sense of belonging and connection

The QuakeGuardians Earth Walk gives youth a safe, supportive space to breathe, explore, and grow.

Who Can Join?

This program is open to:

  • Youth ages 8–18

  • Schools and classrooms

  • Indigenous youth programs

  • Community groups and youth organizations

  • Families seeking meaningful outdoor experiences

No outdoor experience is required. All walks are guided by trained facilitators.
